Chloe & Conners Hemswell Court Wedding.
I love shooting weddings at Hemswell Court, its a beautiful venue and one of my regular wedding venues. I have always enjoyed a great relationship with the owners, Sean and Julie and of course Judith who ensures the smooth running of every wedding that I have shot there, so I was very much looking forward to shooting Chloe and Conners autumnal wedding there in September.
The morning buzzed with quiet excitement with Chloe and her bridesmaids getting ready in the bridal suite. I busied myself with making sure the details where all captured and ensuring I got some lovely images of the rooms, they always look so grand and elegant.
Then it was time for bridal portraits and the first look with dad seeing Chloe in her wedding dress for the first time, always one of my favourite images to produce.
In the meantime Conner and his fellow groomsmen steadied their nerves in the bar while they prepared for pre ceremony portraits.
The Ceremony.
As the ceremony began the room fell into a hush as Chloe entered the room with her father by her side. This was a moment that Chloe was most excited about in the whole day and she could not wait to see Conners emotional reaction and to see him with tears in his eyes, which he most certainly did. You could feel the love throughout the room and it set the tone for the rest of the day, genuine joyful and family centered.
With the formal bits of the day out of the way it was now time for the all important family photos and of course the confetti shot.
Bride and Groom Portraits.
Hemswell Court looked amazing in the autumn light and made the perfect backdrop for some beautiful portraits with the bride and groom, there are so many great locations in the gardens and with this in mind I set out to produce some stunning and creative images that included the natural elements but also had a touch of drama and elegance about them. The images of Bride and groom with Chloe’s veil flying are some of their favourite images from the day and certainly some of my favourites from the day too. Was it a fortunate gust of wind that arrived at just the right time or was it the best man standing to the side throwing it? Well thats something for me to know.
I also love the images of Chloe and Conner just walking through the gardens, again you can feel the love and warmth felt by these two.
Evening Entertainment.
With dinner and speeches out of the way it was time for evening entertainment to begin, starting with the traditional cutting of the cake. I always aim to bring in guests into this shot as it brings in so much more life and energy than just a bride and groom cutting a cake.
And then into the first dance which was “Still into You” by Paramore.
“Can’t count the years on one hand
that we’ve been together
I need the other one to hold you
Make you feel, make you feel better”
The song started slow and then goes into a wilder dance version that was a real crowd pleaser and definitely had the desired effect of getting everyone onto the dance floor.
I asked Chloe if she had any tips for those that are planning their wedding at the moment. Her advice is to take the week off if you can before the wedding so that can can really prepare for the day. The morning of the wedding just flies by so make sure you eat something and make sure you are in your dress at least an hour before the ceremony and enjoy every moment, it goes so fast.
